If you guessed this was a rattlesnake, you are correct. But that’s not the only species slinking around your neighborhood. Arizona, in fact, has dozens of types of snakes. Many are harmless, while others … well, you saw the movie “Snakes on a Plane” right?
Check out Snakes of Arizona website to see the many beautiful reptiles we have in our state.

to have us remove any uninvited guests from your summer pool party.
I saw a snake like this in my driveway, but it didn’t have any rattles does this mean it is
still a rattler? It wasn’t as dark as this one either. How can I be sure it is a rattler. I won’t
disturb them or anything. does hawks eat them?
I’ve a pest issue in my home with mice and insects. That traps and baits aren’t truly having that much have an effect on. I have been seeing ads for Riddex and Pest Manage Plus. You plug them into the wall and they send signals via your home to repel the pests. I would prefer to know which ones truly function so I can get rid of this nuance. Thank You

Thank you for your question, Its a good one, and one that we are asked from time to time. I think that the best and easiest answer to that question is that if these retail store devices truly worked, we as pest management professionals would be using them and selling them to our customers. But We Dont. They might disrupt pest activity for a very short amount of time, IE a day or two, but do not seem to have a long residual affect on rodents or other household pests.
Thanks for your question. I can be reached at the office for further questions at 520-886-3037.
Doug.

Thats a great questions. My answer for snake questions is…If you are not sure what kind of snake it is, then treat it like a rattlesnake! Better to be safe than sorry. Younger rattlesnakes often do not have visible rattles for several years, but have very potent venem.
Most large birds, IE Hawks, Owls, Condors, Etc. Love snakes. They will swoop down and grab the snake and fly somewhere safe to eat it, If you are very luck you might see a large bird flying with a snake in its talons. Snakes do not tend to be agressive, so leave them alone unless they are in your garage or near people. Feel free to call Dorado Pest Control if you have more questions. Thanks, Doug.
